Distribution: Phyllon.dmg includes the app and an Applications shortcut for drag-and-drop install.

Rich text — bold, italic, and underline; notes stored as RTF inside encrypted local storage
Reliable bold and italic via native macOS font traits (NSFontManager)
Word count in the toolbar
Auto-close when the pointer leaves the window (optional; on by default; skipped while the options sheet is open)
Appearance — follow the system, or force light or dark in Options
Font size — applies to the selection only; with no selection, updates typing style and the saved default size
Font family menu — curated list of macOS typefaces (including System)
Sixteen preset text colors for selections or upcoming typing
Copy — plain text or rich text (RTF) to the clipboard
Export — Markdown (.md) alongside plain .txt and encrypted .phyllon
Customization — optional custom editor background and text colors; window opacity
Import — .md in addition to .txt and .phyllon

Stopped resetting fonts and colors on every view refresh so formatting stays stable while you edit
Toolbar actions focus the editor first so bold, italic, and size apply immediately
